Management Team

William T. Jacobson has been past president and CEO and present Chairman of the Board of Atlas Mining Company. He has worked directly in the mining industry for over 12 years. Mr. Jacobson also spent 15 years in the banking industry. He graduated with a B. S. in Business Administration from the University of Idaho in 1971 and is a member of the Northwest Mining Association.

Morris D. Weiss, 48, is a Managing Director and Head of Investment Banking for Tejas Securities Group, Inc., a subsidiary of Tejas Incorporated (OTC: TEJS) where he has been employed since 2002.  Mr. Weiss co-founded the investment banking department at Tejas and has worked on investment banking transactions in which in excess of $1B has been raised since 2004 for both private and public companies in a number of industries, including telecommunications, energy, alternative energy and home building.  Mr. Weiss is a member of the Board of Trenwick America LLC, a private insurance holding company with its subsidiaries in run-off.

From 1997 to 2001, Mr. Weiss served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel for National Bancshares Corporation of Texas (AMEX: NBT), which was sold in a $100MM transaction at the end of 2001.  During a portion of that time period, Mr. Weiss held additional positions, including President of NBC Financial, Inc., a start-up broker dealer subsidiary of NBT, Senior Vice President and General Counsel for NBI, Inc., a Boulder, CO-based holding company, and Equibond Incorporated, a Santa Monica, CA-based broker dealer.

Prior to that, Mr. Weiss was a partner with the law firm of Weil, Gotshal & Manges, LLP in the Business Finance and Restructuring Department, where he practiced for over 11 years, the last 3 years as a partner.

Mr. Weiss holds a BS in Finance from Babson College (1981) and JD from South Texas College of Law (1985) and is licensed to practice law in Texas, New York and Florida.  Mr. Weiss also holds the series 7, 24 and 63 securities licenses as well as numerous insurance licenses.

Ron Short is Operations Manager for Atlas Mining Company. Prior to starting his mining career in 1969, Ron studdied engineering at Whitworth College. His experience in the mining business has taken through all aspects of mining and geological work to VP and General Manager for several western US mines. Ron assists the company in bidding and estimating as well as overseeing all projects.

Frank Fausett is Operations Supervisor for Atlas Mining and Atlas Fausett Contracting. He oversees all aspects of mining and civil contracting work, as well as helps in the bidding process. Prior to joining Atlas Mining, Mr. Fausett was a project manager for Fausett Mine Services, Inc., and has worked on a wide range of civil and mining projects.
